Two Souls - Auras

Auras

Objects that emit auras are usually urns, but don't be surprised if something else emits the aura. You can recognize an aura by the colorful, pulsating light around the emitting object. Once within the range of the aura, the hero will immediately be affected by it. Of course, if you have watched the previous episodes of this series, you already guess that this influence will not always mean something positive or simply useful at a given moment. But one by one.

The color of the aura is connected with its function. The functions are different, but I will start with those that have the same function as potions: the items I discussed in the earlier video. The color of the aura in this case is the same as the color of the potion causing the same effect.

So, we have auras that can change the character's speed, jump height, or size. You will definitely also encounter an aura that will reverse the controls.

It might seem now that this is a duplication of functionality, but nothing could be further from the truth. I would like to remind you that auras are emitted by objects and, as we know, these can, for example, be moved, causing them to affect the hero in the desired places. They can also be destroyed. Then of course the aura will disappear along with the destroyed object. Let's move on to auras, which introduce something new to the game. Ready?

The first aura we will talk about is a red aura emitting "magical power". It may be a force directed outside the aura, then it will push our character out of its area. It may also be an aura that attracts you - as you may have guessed: not to make it easier to complete the level. Of course, the strength of its repulsion or attraction may vary. Most often, the closer our character is to the object emitting this aura, the stronger its effect will be.

The second aura I would like to discuss is the white one that turns our character into a ghost. Or at least partially. While within its range, the character will be able to pass through some elements or even walls or floors. We may not be able to break through a wall with our head, but we will not always be able to reach previously inaccessible areas using levers or buttons.

If the spiritual aura didn't impress you, I hope the black one will do the trick. By entering its area of operation, our character or any other object will have its gravity changed. This will, of course, affect a number of things, such as friction or the weight of the character. You remember the difference between weight and mass, right? Moving some elements may then turn out to be easier, or simply possible, when gravity decreases, or vice versa when gravity increases. But it is not everything. Some auras that modify gravity can also reverse it, with all the consequences that this entails. Be careful not to break your legs by falling onto the ceiling.

Of course if you preffer watch video instead reading text here you go. It is in Polish language but you can turn on english captions.
